Contrary to popular belief about motherhood, a make up routine isn't something you have to give up if you don't want to. I have my make-up routine so practised I could probably do it with my eyes closed. Trust me when I say that this is only from years of trial and error.. Many errors! Whoever said bright blue eyeshadow looks good is deranged. These are my favourite make-up products! 1. I always start with my favourite moisturiser Benefit Triple Performing Serum $55 from Smith and Caughey's. I brought this product purely for the smell. Its delicious! It doesn't leave you oily or dewy. 2. I fill in my brows with a cheapie brow pallet from a chemist in the UK. You can get a similar one at KMART from elf. $6 Please don't make this an excuse to try and get Kardashian-perfect brows.. It almost never works out. Less is truly more. 3. I fix up my acne (lol) and cover up those dark circles with Mac select cover up in NC25 for summer, a shade lighter in winter otherwise I look yellow. I use this to sharpen the lines on my brows. $30 (duty free) I'm not sure what it costs in store. 4. If I have really bad skin or I'm going out (like outside the confines or home or supermarket) I finish my foundation with Nars Sheer Glow in Deauville/Ceylan, its a light foundation and it doesn't do the shiny thing (which heaps of people hate because you can get oily) and I apply with a rounded buffer brush. Lightly otherwise you'll look like a ghost. $69 from Mecca cosmetics! 5. I fix my foundation with a classic... MAC Studio fix in NC25 for winter and C4 in Summer! Lightly with a powder brush, I never use the sponge. It gives a weird, animated and over-done look to skin. Go easy :) $45 duty free or $59 from a MAC store I believe. 6. I finish my face with a bronzer from Revlon Colourstay finishing bronzer! I got this for $7 from a Big Bucket Sale! Its the best thing I've ever brought and has lasted for 2 years. Thats value for money! I apply this under my cheek bones, around my forehead, the sides of my nose and neck (like a contour but lighter). It makes you look like you've been lying on a beach in fiji when really, you've been lying in bed watching netflix and eating mi goreng. 7. The last thing on this list is my go-to mascara from Eye of Horus NZ, It actually promotes eyelash growth and is made from natural products like beeswax and carnuba wax. It comes off with a wet face cloth and never leaves panda eyes! My step-mum brought me this for christmas and I LOVE it! You can grab this from their website http://www.eyeofhorus.net.nz/ its $34. If I'm going somewhere special I might add some eyeliner, this its normally a bit heavy for everyday wear. My 13 year old self would disagree and PILE the black liner on like Taylor Momsen on Gossip Girl but I think I've learned a thing or two about having small chingy eyes and trying to make them bright and big! Thats all for tonight folks. S x

Hi everyone! I'm back and better than ever.
The past few weeks we've had a lot of things going down! Following my hospital debacle, I've had to have regular blood testing to monitor my liver function (no, I don't drink too much). Its all back to normal! YAY! My mum has gone back to work after 4 months of being with my kids and I which we are sad about. I've been parenting alone with the most moody 2 year old you'll ever come across. Noah started rugby and he absolutely loves it. We aren't allowed to photograph training but I will snap a photo of him in his uniform this weekend! He also cut his face open and had to be sedated in hospital, I wish I videoed it, he was saying random things and sleeping with his eyes open. I'm laughing about it now but I wasn't at the time. Noah is 2 going on 20! We've organised a family holiday to Australia in October to see my parents and my husband is still working as hard ever (he is amazing!) I've been trying to come up with new ideas on what we could do during the day, Noah and I need a change! We go to the zoo regularly and to the park most days. We have an EXTREMELY exciting event coming up very shortly, it is a secret for the time being. Rest assured you'll all know soon enough! It will have its own celebration post! Before you ask- no, I'm not pregnant again. Last thing before I go and take the ipad off Noah for bedtime snuggles, our wedding was featured on Paper and Lace. Check them out on facebook, or the link on my timeline. I'm still buzzing from our wedding weekend! Goodnight everyone! S x OK, if you can't already tell I'm about to go on a rant of some sorts because today was just one of THOSE days.
1. Noah had an exceedingly annoying amount of energy this morning and it was POURING with rain and I thought my only option at that time in the morning was to take him to a certain over-priced children's indoor playground which took 1 hour to get a park! Thanks school holidays. 2. On the way to the playground, we stopped at the dairy and some disgusting guy had his genitals on display for every man, woman, child and animal to see. He was asking people for money, like somehow his junk show was payment for the $1.50 he was begging for. 3. While at said over-priced children's indoor playground, a little girl kicked Noah in the head and his eyebrow split open again! 4. I hate going to places like this alone because to be fair, Noah is a rough kid. He's had no ongoing childcare or kids to play with regularly because of his allergies so he isn't the best at social interactions and the other parents look at me like I'm the WORST parent ever when he starts getting a bit too rough with their 'precious' child. I must be the devil. 5. I stopped at the Supermarket to get some meat for dinner and had to take Noah inside. He was upset and tired with his eye bleeding and some ranui scum lady yelled "shut the f*ck up you little brat".. Like thanks for your amazing insight in to parenting a toddler, you must be a professional at taking care of kids while obviously on P or some other substance. I wish I could rewind time and grab the orange juice bottle off the shelf and throw it at her head. I can't wait to kiss this dumb day goodbye. UGH. Hello everyone, and when I say everyone I mean my future self because I'm not even sure anyone will read this ha ha! Over the weekend Noah had an accident and fell off his bike and it was brick vs face. We ended up having to go to the hospital and he had to be sedated because he has a fear of hospitals after the last accident (on his birthday). Long story short he was a real life humpty dumpty and they glued him back together again! He was his normal, over energised self the next morning so we took him to his first rugby class and he loved it! see http://www.littlerugby.co.nz/ for more info! In other exciting news, I just received a beautiful new package on my doorstep! I can't believe I've been married for 2 months already! This is so pretty and the details and amount of work put into this is amazing. If you are ever looking for a photographer for weddings, parties, family portraits and even newborn photos (that's Bianca's specialty) then you have gotta try Love Stories! Bianca is seriously such an awesome person, we felt like we'd known her forever and she fit right in with our family. She knows whats up! see http://lovestories.co.nz/ for more details! I can't think of anything else exciting apart from Tui growing more each day, she is so beautiful and looks just like her dad. Even though she keeps us awake at night and cries pretty much all day, shes still super cute and cuddly. I'll leave you with this little piece of art by my sister Mel. She's so talented! Over the Easter holiday we spent the weekend camping at a small music festival in the Waikato. What did we do you ask? Well, apart from getting fatter overloading on chocolate (oops!) we played some music, got my mum and nana to play circle of death, Noah tried to bully a 7 year old, the boys played a bit of rugby and so much more! I have to admit to being a bit slack updating this blog but we've been busy.. Stay tuned for more exciting things. Noah starts rugby this Sunday and the kids and I have just booked a little family holiday overseas. I'm also trying to convince my husband to let me get new carpet - you don't even want to see the heinous flooring we currently have lol! Me being me, I have already picked the colour I just need recommendations on which company to go with. Any suggestions? While you think of suggestions here are some pics of our weekend and cute little Tui xx |
