How do you know if you have been a victim of kidsoverrulingyourlife-itis?
You speak to babies like justin bieber pre-puberty, you often go out in public wearing pyjamas/trackpants/stretchy tights with some kind of sticky food in your hair or somewhere on your clothing, Showering daily is a struggle. Vaccuming..Also a struggle. Just any kind of cleaning up is a struggle. No matter how hard you try, your car is always a mess of toys, clothes, books, nappies, old crackers stuffed down carseats, ect. ect. Eating your child's unfinished ham sandwich is as close to dining at Eight at the Langham you're gunna get for a while. A straightner? what is this sorcery? Saliva? Oh yes thank you, thats just what I wanted for desert. Having nice things, like a clean baby-puke free couch is a luxury you can only dream of! The cure? Sticking your head in the ov ..Only kidding. The cure is realising you love those little tiny terrorists. Raising kids is hard, You really do NEED a village to pull it off. I'm lucky enough to have a huge village full of so many awesome role-models for my babies. When they get older they will understand that its not only Mum & Dad who raised them but theres Granny, Bob-Bob, Poua, Nana, Grandma Pe & Ani, Moomoo, Dew, Nana Tricia & Pops, Ganda, Gacey and so many more special people (with equally special made up names) who will contribute to the people they will grow to be. I congratulate anyone who is a mother or about to become one, grab your people. You're gunna need them.

The way my life has panned out so far is a thing of beauty. A bit of a mess. A beautiful mess. I have a flair for doing things the wrong way. I have a long and disappointing track record of quitting things. I start something and a little voice in my head tells me I might fail. If you look for an exit, you'll always find one. I think maybe a lot of people have that voice? Thats when I pull the panic chord and I think if I don't try so hard, I wont feel so bad when I fail. If I had half of the motivation my mother and father have, I'd be able to do anything I tried. Having kids is the first thing that I haven't checked out of, you can't quit that. There is no way possible. I'm mentally weak. If I spend some time trying to change my mindset I might be able to get somewhere in life? Thats my thoughts anyway. I just want my children to be proud of me.. If you look at me now there really is nothing to be proud of, no achievements, no degree. I think I want to spend the next couple of months seriously trying to figure out what I'm going to do career wise. I can't just sit around anymore. I want to be someone. That honesty though? Brutal. I'm going to do a top 10 every week of something and this week, first up will be the top 10 chick flicks of all time (Obviously this is completely my own opinion, which doesn't even really matter lol?) But I'm always spending ages searching for that perfect movie to watch on a Sunday afternoon.
I'll dive right into it. 10. A Walk To Remember Mandy Moore before she got all weird. Movie includes weird girl, popular guy, stargazing, church minister, singing, a dude jumping off a tower in to really shallow water and getting injured (idiot), cancer. If thats not enough to convince you, spoiler alert! She gets the guy. We all love it when the girl gets the guy. 9.Bride Wars I have a thing for wedding movies. Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson play best friends since childhood. The two of them start competing with each other and end up becoming rivals in a crazy prank war that leads to one being dyed orange, the other blue, buying a Vera Wang, not being able to fit said Vera Wang ect.... Just watch it. Its a good movie! 8. The Princess Diaries Ever since I saw this movie, I secretly hoped that my estranged Grandmother would finally show up and tell me that I, infact was a princess and it was now time to go and live in a castle in a far away land (lol). Another Anne Hathaway movie yes. She is just so good in girly movies! 7. Sixteen Candles Samantha Baker. 80's heroine. If my parents forgot my birthday at sixteen I would've kicked up the biggest fuss ever. I love Molly Ringwald. The film is well-paced, never drags, and has its characters pegged pretty well. The obnoxious grandparents are particularly well-drawn. Of course things are eventually fixed in a manner that could never possibly happen in real life, but that's why we go to the movies. The drama! 6. Legally Blonde Elle Woods! Delta Nu, gemini, vegetarian. She has a bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising from CULA & Two weeks ago she bumped in to Cameron Diaz at Fred Segal.. and she talked her out of buying this truly heinous angora sweater. Whoever said orange was the new pink is seriously disturbed! 5. Bring It On Of course! You can't have a top 10 chick flick without this one. I think my sister and I have watched this movie 1000 times. I can recite it start to end. Is that useful? No. Is is sad? yes. 4. The Breakfast Club A brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal. One of my favourite movies of all time. 3. Mean Girls Lindsay Lohan before the drugs. This is a classic now, the quotes will never stop being funny. Everybody knows a Regina George and if you don't the chances are you're probably a Regina yourself. My favourite part of this movie is when Kevin G does his rap performance for the annual Christmas concert. AAAAAAAAWWWW KEVIN G. Mathlete. Badass MC. 2. If I Stay I love this movie for the soundtrack and because of the parents! I want to be them. They are such awesome parents! Although the downside is the Chloe Grace Moretz doesn't suit the role, shes too unnatural.. too akward to play Mia. Reading the book I imagined Mia being something different. 1. Of course it has to be The Notebook An EPIC love story, one that every girl dreams of. Minus the alzheimer's and the fact that they lose each other for a few years. I love this movie so much, I named my son after the main character. Noah and Allie will always be my favourite love story! "If you're a bird, I'm a bird!"
